ABOUT THE EVENT
The Wild Harvest Festival, created in Sandspit in 2015, is a local, grassroots, inclusive Festival focused on the sharing of knowledge about the harvesting and varied uses of all things wild.
Even the most novice of foragers can learn about respectful and sustainable harvesting of wild edibles, about medicinal plants, about hunting or fishing, about traditional uses of all that our lands, forests, and oceans can provide to us, with respect to local cultural traditions, wildlife, plant life and the environment at large, to preserve and protect this invaluable heritage for the future generations.
This Festival is here to promote a healthy, clean environment for all.
Through discussions, talks, presentations, workshops and outdoor activities, the Wild Harvest Festival brings people together and out into the wild.
The Festival and its organizers acknowledge the traditional, ancestral, unceded territory of the Haida Nation on which this event takes place.
We invite visitors to our islands to sign the Haida Gwaii Pledge
Come and join us!
