We are now finalizing our schedule for the wildest event on Haida Gwaii.
Times and activities can still change until the day of the event but this tentative schedule will likely not move too much from now on.
You will find the updated schedule on our schedule page but below is the tentative schedule at this point.

FRIDAY, SEPT 7th

7:30pm - LIVE MUSIC! - Saltwater Hank - A 4-piece band from Prince George will perform at the Sandspit Community Hall - Cocktails and food served during the performance!

Wild Harvest Cafe - in the community Hall - Starting at 3pm till late - By our local Chef Rachel from the "I Love Local" Food truck

SATURDAY, SEPT 8th

Wild Run and Walk
(Before the opening at 10:00am)
8:30am - Meet at the Sandspit Community Hall for a "run around the Spit" led by 2018 Totem-to-Totem Half Marathon winner Melissa Paugh - About 6km
Meet same time same place for a walk to the Spit - About 3km

11:00am: “Wild Harvest Distillation” - Kyla Mitchell and Natalie Affolter from Islandwise Essentials
12:00pm: "Wild Edibles of Haida Gwaii" - Jairul Rahaman
1:00pm - Salt Making workshop - Cathy Baran from The Salt Cart - Maximum of 8 participants - Details to be sorted - approximately 2 hours
2:00pm: "Fermentation techniques" - Dan Binnema
3:30pm: "Mushrooms of Haida Gwaii" - Stu Crawford

Mushroom Forays
1:00pm and 3:00pm - This year, we will offer 2 outings around Sandspit. These 90 minute long outings will allow visitors to go for a walk in the forest and gather mushrooms that will be IDed in the field or later at the Community Hall - Transport is included - A sign up sheet will be available on the day of the event
Nature Photography with Laura Sample
5:30pm - Our local resident Nature Photographer Laura Sample will present a brand new slideshow of her work
Food
Wild Harvest Cafe - in the community Hall - Starting at 10am till 5pm - By our local Chef Rachel from the "I Love Local" Food truck
Pit-cooking demonstration by Stu Crawford - The food will be shared in the evening with visitors at the Sandspit Community Hall - Subject to cancellation if fire ban is not lifted!
Cocktails and light fares - from 5pm at the Community Hall
Special creation dinner at the Sandspit Inn by Guest Chef Bobby Sherlock
