Hydrosol Distillation Demonstration

This year, Islandwise Essentials will be back and are planning on bringing their usual array of soap & body products as well as a table for their new product line of locally made hydrosols (distillation of plants to end up with a scented water - like a watery essential oil).

Owners Kyla Mitchell and Natalie Affolter will host a demonstration called “Wild Harvest Distillation” that is presently set to take place at 11:00am on Saturday September 8th.

The Wild Harvest Distillation Demonstration might involve:

• gathering some spruce or hemlock boughs with a group of participants

• a little talk on what a hydrosol is

• samples of what they have already made

• distilling a spruce and/or hemlock hydrosol

This event will happen at and around the Community Hall.
